Pierpaolo Lista

Pierpaolo Lista, born in Salerno in 1977, lives in Paestum (SA) and works between Naples and Milan.

Glass is the only canvas used in the paintings of Pierpaolo Lista.

The artist reverses the usual procedure of painting applying colour not to the front of the glass plate but to the back. Unexpected visuals emerge through the design and the colour coating by exercising this unusual technique. Every image presents itself as more of an ephemeral recovered memory than as a piece of matter before you.

While Lista’s painting appears to be technically unique, on the other hand, his photographs, which place in continuity with his pictorial approach, show a world arduous to imitate. That is because the artist from time to time plans small theatres and micro-choreographies, which act as the leitmotiv to his photographical shoots.
